Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.
A lot of people have asked me how it's going, when it will be published and stuff. I really appreciate getting asked these things because it shows that people are actually interested in my writings, and that it just such a great feeling :aww:
I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.
I haven't finished writing SPIKE yet.

Aparte de eso, estoy viendo Rurouni Kenshin POR FIN. En su día sólo pude ver unos poquitos episodios por culpa de la parrilla de programación, que apestaba. Ahora gracias a los internets tengo una segunda oportunidad. Así que no me spoileéis, porfa. Aunque ya me la destriparon entera por suerte no me acuerdo de casi nada. XD

Y me acabo de comer las OVAs de Tomoe. Menos mal que después va la serie que es más alegre, porque si no me tiraba por la ventana ya mismo. UXD BTW, en esa serie no hay ni heteros ni homos, hay Kenshinsexuales (tm) by ~peppermint-polly. ¡Todo el mundo le da! Yo incluida, por supuesto. :iconohseriousplz:


Apart from that, I'm watching Rurouni Kenshin AT LEAST. Back in the day, I only watched a few episodes because the schedule grid sucked major ass. Now, thanks to teh intahwebz, I have a second chance! So no spoilers plz. I already knew some things, but luckily I don't remember a thing. XD

And I've just watched Tomoe's OVAs. I'm glad the series is a bit more cheerful, because otherwise I'll be jumping out of the window right now. UXD BTW, in this series there aren't hetero nor homosexuals, there are Kenshinsexuals (tm) by ~peppermint-polly. Everybody would hit him!! Myself included, of course.:iconohseriousplz:

I'm so glad you're watching Kenshin! I won't spoil you, but will give you this: After episode 62 (or 66) of the anime, skip to manga vol. 18-27. Just do it, don't bother with the second OVA. The third series of the anime is filler, a good bit of it enjoyable. But the manga Jinchuu arc is just INCREDIBLE. This series is my second favorite ever behind Slayers and it is fantastic.

I've already been warned about the... filler nature of the last part of the anime. XDDD And it seems that the author wasn't happy with the second ova either, but I'm curious about it. UXD The manga is being reedited in thick, gorgeous translated volumes so... "ya caerá" (I don't know how to translate that phrase. Literally it means "it will fall" and you say it when you intend to buy something but don't know exactly when... among a hundred meanings more UXD Well, you get it. XD)

I get what you mean. They're doing the same thing here. I'm slowly importing the Japanese ones as I get the money because their manga redoing is a lot more gorgeous than the U.S.

The filler anime arc isn't terrible. There's some gems in there, like the art student episode. That still makes me roll on the floor laughing. But, it's definitely not like the earlier part of the series.

The second OVA is really nice if you haven't read the manga. Knowing how the manga ends, it's just terrible to me. Definitely watch it, because on its own it's pretty good. The music is just fantastic.
